Orthoceras Fossils
Eight hundred million years ago, our planet earth looked quite different. What is now dry land was once covered with ocean, and ancient marine animals swam freely in a cold, ice-age climate. Today, the ancient ancestor of one of those marine animals, the squid-like orthoceras, are found fossilized throughout the world. The most notable ones are found in the Sahara Desert and Morocco, with their glistening, mineralized chambers impaled upon slate-coloured rocks.
Come see these ancient creatures for yourself! They will be featured at our booth this year at the 2008 Canadian National Exhibition.
